Lawsuit over airline merger
A lawsuit has pressed the pause button on the UAL/Continental merger.
The complaint was filed in US District Court in San Francisco. Concerned passengers believe that by creating the largest airline in the world, prices will skyrocket. The Justice Department must still approve the merger.
Both airlines are cooperating with the Department of Justice. A spokesperson for each company says that the lawsuit has no merit and the intention of the merge is to benefit customers.
