Google+ for Business? Not yet

Online communities are buzzing about the new Google+.  In case you’ve been living under a rock, Google+ is Google’s social networking service launched on June 28th.  Currently Google+ is in a testing phase and requires an invitation to make a profile.  Businesses everywhere are wondering how to start utilizing Google+ for marketing.

If you’ve been thinking about making a Google+ profile, Google has a crystal clear answer for you: NO.  Or at least not yet.  Google is currently focused on improving the service for individuals but,  “have a great team of engineers building a similarly optimized business experience for Google+.”  By the end of the year Google hopes to open the social network service for businesses which,  “Will include things like rich analytics, and the ability to connect [a Google+] identity to other parts of Google that businesses might use on a daily basis, like AdWords.”

  1. I find it hard to believer that Google is going to make a dent in facebook with this new google plus approach. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off. Google search is down 9% with Facebook accounting for the shift. I am also very concerned about Google’s dominance and have shifted some of my search to Yahoo, just to keep some balance. Watching out for Facebook too. Great story and glad someone is following all this.
