LinkedIn Adds Button to Make Job Hunt Easier

We already talked about LinkedIn and the new options that have been added to make it an even more invaluable tool for individuals.  Yesterday we discussed small businesses and their hiring decisions.  Job hunters and companies looking to hire will now find LinkedIn more worthwhile than ever.  LinkedIn announced the launch of an “Apply With LinkedIn” button.

Companies will embed the button on their website and LinkedIn users can submit their profiles as resumes to hiring firms.  Applicants don’t have to worry about cover letters and formatting their resumes as they would with many online application options.  There will even be a “Saved Jobs” tab on LinkedIn so job searchers can remember where they have already applied.

This may also be a great option for your business if you are recruiting.  Many companies will not hire without looking at an applicant’s social media profiles, including LinkedIn.  The “Apply With LinkedIn” button kills two birds with one stone for these firms.  Be cautious, however, of the many unqualified hopefuls who can now apply with little effort.

Changing technology has transformed searching for jobs and hiring employees.  Much of the advancement has been focused on making the hunt easier for applicants and employers.  Will you use the new “Apply With LinkedIn” button?
