Starbucks’ Create Jobs for USA
Starbucks wants to help small businesses in more ways than just selling caffeine to employees.
On Monday Starbucks Corp. announced a new program called Create Jobs for USA that will give donations from customers and employees to the Opportunity Finance Network, an organization that lends to small businesses. Chairman and CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultze said, “We’ve got to thaw the channels of credit so that community businesses can start hiring again.”
Starbucks will start accepting donations for Create Jobs for USA on November 1. You will be able to give money at www.CreateJobsforUSA.org or at any Starbucks location. If you donate over $5 you will receive a red, white and blue wristband that says “indivisible.”
“Create Jobs for USA empowers Americans to help other Americans create and sustain jobs,” said Schultz.
On your morning coffee run why not help out America’s small businesses. Beginning next month Starbucks’ Create Jobs for USA program will allow visitors of the coffee chain to support small business across the United States.
