Social Media and Small Businesses
Small businesses everywhere are using social media. According to the Fall 2011 Attitudes and Outlook Survey by Constant Contact, social media efforts by small businesses continue to grow.
The survey found that 81% of small businesses now use social media. That figure is up almost 10% since this past spring. One reason social media is so popular among small business is that it takes less time and money than traditional marketing and communication options. Almost half of participants in the study reported social media did not take an overwhelming amount of time. Facebook is still the top choice for social media, but Twitter is becoming more popular among small businesses. Among the small businesses with Twitters, 60% reported that they think Twitter is useful.
Social media is increasingly many small businesses’ primary tool for marketing and interacting with customers. Many small businesses find social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter to be invaluable. How are you using social media?
