Marketing Channels of the New Year
It’s now 2012 and marketing strategies continue to evolve. The same marketing channels that were priorities for retailers 10 years ago are now irrelevant and new ones, like social media, emerge yearly. A recent survey conducted by Bronto Software polled retailers on which marketing channels they currently use to reach consumers and the marketing channels they plan to utilize in the new year.
Not surprisingly a whopping 87% of retailers have already started using Facebook, and of the non-users 8% want to try out Facebook in 2012. Only slightly less prevalent than Facebook is Twitter, which 82% of retailers currently employ and 8% want to start using this year. Other popular marketing channels for 2012 include mCommerce sites, bar and qr code, and mobile applications.
