Industries that Created Jobs in 2011

December’s unemployment rate was the lowest it has been in three year, partly in thanks to hiring among small businesses.  In fact in 2011 1.9 million jobs were created by the private sector, but what industries created the most jobs last year?

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics  industries are the top ten job makers of 2011:

1. Health Care and Social Assistance: created 350, 300 jobs in 2011

2. Accommodation an Food Services: created 273, 700 jobs in 2011

3. Professional and Technical Services: created 246, 200 jobs in 2011

4. Durable Goods Manufacturing: created 239, 000 jobs in 2011

5. Administrative and Waste Services: created 179, 500 jobs in 2011

6. Mining and Logging: created 91,000 jobs in 2011

7. Wholesale Trade: created 84, 400 jobs in 2011

8. Educational Services: created 76, 300 jobs in 2011

9. Transportation and Warehousing: created 67, 00 jobs in 2011

10. Construction: created 46, 000 jobs in 2011
