Obama Plans To Consolidate the SBA
On Friday President Obama announced a proposal to merge the Small Business Administration with four other agencies.
If congress approves Obama’s plan the SBA will merge with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Export-Import Bank, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and the Trade and Development Agency. The new agency will replace the Department of Commerce.
Karen Mills, the current head of the SBA, will be made a cabinet member to, “make sure that small business owners have their own seat at the table,” according to Obama.
Many small businesses depend on the support of the SBA, however if congress passes Obama’s plan the agency will be consolidated. Would you be comfortable with the consolidation of the SBA?
