  1. Working from home is great in a lot of ways. However, having done it for years there are a few things to think about. One is isolation, collaboration definitely happens more when in the same office setting. So to keep the collaboration element alive one must adapt to technologies that allow for immediate communications. Skype is one way to improve communications. With employees scattered across the globe it may be the only way to reach them. A regular routine is also a big help in keeping your focus on your work. Distractions at home can reduce productivity. At the same time a well equipped home office can add productivity at home since it allows the worker flexibility in when the work is done. Its definitely a trend for the future and some good research can provide ideas on how to create the best working conditions.
