Optimism Index Drops
For the past six months the NFIB optimism index has steadily increased, however in March is dropped.
The total score dropped two points, and of the nine of the ten components sank.
“They aren’t seeing anything n the future that makes them more optimistic, unfortunately,” said Holly Wade, a NFIB senior policy analyst. “Sales expectations and earnings aren’t improving, so they are less enthusiastic about hiring plans and future capital expenditures. It’s a cycle we can’t seem to get ourselves out of.”
