Good Bosses Feel Guilty?
What trait is most important to have as a good boss? You are unlikely to guess what Stanford University’s study found.
According to the study, bosses who have tendencies to feel guilty come across as better leaders.
The study was conducted by giving participants personality tests that measured traits like guilt proneness, shame proneness and extroversion. Without naming a leader the participants were then given group tasks to accomplish. Researchers examined which individuals were perceived as being leaders in the group. The individuals who personality tests revealed they are prone to guilt were most likely to be seen as leaders.
There are many traits that great leaders posses. Being guilt prone, however, is not often recognized as been an important trait of leaders. What traits do you think great leaders share?
