Small Businesses in Holding Patterns
Current economic and political climates make many small businesses skeptical about growth in the coming year.
The economy shows signs of improvement, but is still rocky. Meanwhile the upcoming election is unpredictable, small business executives are unsure of what administration and policies will be in place after November.
According to the August Wall Street Journal/Vistage Small Business CEO survey, about half of small business CEOs doubt they will see significant growth this year. In addition, many of the CEOs surveyed said they don’t plan on hiring or increasing investment spending in the near future.
Although many small businesses are becoming more confident that they will survive the recession, a lot of small businesses do not expect to grow anytime soon.
